Polling will take place between the hours of 7am and 10pm on Thursday, 15 October 2020 for the election of one councillor for the Ellon and District electoral ward in Aberdeenshire.
All electors aged 16 or over on 15 October 2020 who are resident and registered to vote in Aberdeenshire Council Ward 9 can take part.
We are currently carrying out our annual canvass of all households in Grampian and a letter has already been sent to each household to make sure that registration details are up to date.
If you have recently changed address and not already updated your registration please go to www.gov/register-to-vote and update your registration.
New rules mean that EVERYONE* who is living in Scotland can now register to vote providing that they are 14 years old or over.
*You must be either
- a British, Irish, or European Union citizen or
- a Commonwealth citizen or a Foreign National who has leave to enter or remain in the UK, or who does not require such leave.
You need to have applied to register to vote by 29 September 2020 to be in time to vote in the by-election on 15 October.

Any completed application to vote by post must reach us by 5pm 30 September 2020 to be in time to vote by post in the by-election that takes place on 15 October.
