The deadline for registering to vote in the Scottish Parliamentary Election was Monday 18 April, so if you’re not already registered, you’re too late to register to vote on 5 May.
If you did get registered in time, well done – you are now registered to vote for life*.
Once registered you stay registered and will be able to vote in all elections and referendums you are entitled to take part in. So, no need to re-register for the EU Referendum if you’re registered to vote in the Scottish Parliamentary Election. If you missed the 18 April deadline but want to vote in the EU Referendum click on the Register to vote button below.
*Special electors who make a registration declaration as they live overseas or are homeless may have to renew their declaration periodically – but we let them know when this is necessary. Otherwise, you stay registered unless your circumstances change such as you change your address or your name.
